Numbness in the Arm
Numbness or weakness in the arm especially when it is a general feeling throughout the arm can be quite serious. Anytime there is a change in sensation in the body it should be examined immediately.
One of the common causes of generalized numbness or weakness in the arm is direct pressure on the nerve plexus in the arm, the brachial plexus.
What can happen is when pressure is placed on this group of nerves is it can create multi-nerve symptoms giving the appearance of generalized numbness or weakness.
It cannot be stressed enough that if you are experiencing numbness or weakness that it be checked immediately.
Active Release techniques can be used to treat pressure on the brachial plexus. It is highly effective for this as specific techniques are used to locate and treat the injured areas.
