Biceps Tendinitis
Biceps Tendinitis is a common injury in weightlifters and athletes who use an overhand throwing motion. The tendon runs on the anterior aspect of the humerus and passes through the bicipital groove attaching onto the superior aspect of the labrum of the glenohumeral joint (shoulder socket).
This injury can be complicated by rotator cuff issues (tightness, dysfunction). It is very important to get a proper exam for this type of injury as the injury may appear to only be an inflammation of the tendon but there may be more damage to the muscle itself or to the adjacent structure.
By getting an exam and treatment by an Active Release provider you can be sure they have identified the exact tissue that was damaged and they will not only treat the bicep but also any other surrounding tissues that were damaged in the process.
