Active Release for the Hips

Active Release Techniques are highly effective for the lower body.  Many people train and stretch regularly but do not have great flexibility in their hips. ART is a quick and effective way to release areas of tension and adhesion in the Hips (glutes), low back and hip flexor areas.  This increase in flexibility and range of motion will allow for better performance as well as reduced risk of injury.

Specifically, proper length and texture of  the Psoas, Piriformis, Dorsal Sacral ligaments are key to optimal hip movement and flexibility.  Issues with these tissues will cause sciatica, numbness, weakness and or pain/discomfort with movement.

The nerve tissues that can be effected in this area range from the lower lumbar nerves all the way to the end of the spinal cord at the sacrum and coccyx.

Active Release can locate and treat these restricted areas to restore normal movement and function to these tissues.
